Installing
your presets

Two minutes on a phone, less on a desktop. If you are on the free Lightroom mobile app, start here, the free tier cannot read .xmpfiles at all, which is why every pack also ships .dng.

On a phone, free app included

  1. 01

Download the zip and unzip it on your phone

On iPhone, Files app, tap the zip, it unzips beside itself. On Android, use Files or any unzip app. You are looking for the folder marked MOBILE-DNG.

  2. 02

Save the DNG files to your photos

Open the MOBILE-DNG folder, select all of them, and share them to Photos or your gallery. They look like dark, flat photographs. That is correct, they are carrying the settings, not the picture.

  3. 03

    Import them into Lightroom

Open Lightroom Mobile, tap the add-photos button, and add the DNG files from your camera roll. Put them in an album called Presets so they stay out of your way.

  4. 04

    Copy the settings from one

Open one of the DNG files inside Lightroom, tap the three dots in the top right, and choose Copy Settings. Tick everything except Tools, Optics, Geometry and Crop.

  5. 05

    Paste onto your own photo

Open your photograph, three dots again, Paste Settings. That is the grade applied. Adjust exposure and white balance to taste, because every frame starts from a different place.

  6. 06

Save it as a reusable preset

With the grade applied, three dots, Create Preset. Name it and put it in a group called Graded By. From now on it is one tap, on any photo, forever.

When it goes wrong

01Lightroom says the file is not supported

You are importing the .xmp into the mobile app. The mobile app cannot read .xmp at all on the free tier. Use the files in the MOBILE-DNG folder instead.

02The preset did nothing to my photo

Check that Copy Settings included the colour and tone groups, not just the basic panel. If you ticked Tools or Crop by mistake, untick those and copy again.

03It looks completely different on my photo

That is how presets work. A preset is a transfer curve applied to whatever colours your frame already has. Start by correcting exposure and white balance first, then apply the grade.

04I cannot find the presets after installing on desktop

Restart Lightroom completely. Presets are only read at startup. If they are still missing, check that you copied them into Lightroom / Settings and not into the parent folder.

05I lost my download link

Write once from the contact page with the email you paid from and we will resend it. Plain emails to support@gradedby.in get the same answer.

06Can I put them on two devices?

Yes. The licence is per person, not per device. Phone and desktop, as many as you own.
