What this pack does
Converting to black and white by pulling saturation to zero gives you grey, not monochrome. Everything lands in the middle and fog, which is almost entirely middle, turns to porridge.
Monsoon Mono runs an S-curve after the conversion. The quarter tone drops hard, the three-quarter tone lifts, and the extreme ends are held back from pure black and pure white so a print still has somewhere to go.
The result keeps separation in weather. Mist stays readable against a treeline, rain stays visible against a wall, and a face under an overcast sky keeps its modelling instead of flattening out.
